James Kyte grew up in Albany, Oregon. After high school, he served in the United States Army.
He returned to Albany, attended college, started a business, and worked with his dad on a ranch.
In 1985, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, becoming a disciple of Christ, filled with the Holy Spirit. In 1996, he accompanied Rev. Leon Willis in missions to the Philippines. During the next 4 years, he returned several times to the Philippines, developing a compassion for lost souls and tribal missions. He then closed his business and returned to live there.
In February 2000 James married Emma Tapion; they traveled together, developing leaders, building churches, conducting conferences. They participated in medical missions; through that ministry, they were blessed with two daughters: Flor, now 34, and Rachel, now 25.
He was ordained by the Full Gospel Fellowship of Churches and Ministers International. He serves as a board member of Harvest Time Temple, Inc. in the Philippines, which was coordinated and hosted by Emma Kyte.
After they moved to Salome, they began attending Fellowship Bible Church, where James began teaching an in-depth weekly Bible study and occasionally preached. In 2019 he answered the call to become pastor. He continues the Bible study, disciples individuals, and shepherds his flock. We are blessed to have a Spirit-filled pastor – our church is growing!
